Sharon's Birthday

When I got up, my face was horribly puffy and lined from the sun and dehydration. Put on lotion and lip balm. That felt better. Later in the day looked better. That happens, but I do not know why.

Joined everyone for breakfast at 9. It was Sharon's birthday and we sang to her; in only one language though.

Loaded my stuff on the shuttle and a bunch of us went to the airport at 11, some leaving and some picking up a rental car. We could not bear to part yet, or so it seemed. As the bus pulled up, everyone scattered with barely a goodbye.

Besides my own stuff, had one of Rick's giant, immensely heavy bags. Was staring, with equanimity, at a three hour-long United check-in line, when Warren came up and told me there was road side check-in. That was a nice surprise and checked my bags without waiting. Thought road side check-in was canceled for security reasons.

Florida

Had a couple of easy flights home, no leg room, but was on the aisle. Sigal had been circling and was soon there to pick me up. Had an easy drive to her place and got in about midnight.

Home

Barely saw another human being besides our group. Did see the smoke from jets, but otherwise, no other vehicles except the jet boat. Heard no human noises, no radio, no TV, no computer, no phones, no pages, no air conditioning. Did not wear a watch. Did not see any pollution and barely any trash.

The trip was not rugged or difficult, if anything, leisurely. Gorgeous scenery, terrific hiking, beautiful weather, good food, clean air and grounds, and a lot of fun.

A great trip.
